Today the Design Team and I are focusing on the most wonderful Frames and Tags Die Set! I must admit that the window frame die from this new set is something that was on my wish list for quite a long time and I have tons of ideas how to use it for a quick, easy and yet fun card front layouts! I also would like to mention that on the card that I’m sharing today, the new die set was paired with another fantastic newbie – Pastel Basics Paper Pad!
My today’s project has a fun and easy layout made by pairing new Pastel Basics Paper Pad with Frames and Tags Die Set! And since the gingham pattern made me think about the farm, I picked the most adorable goats from Bleat Stamp Set and created a sweet birthday card!
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Die cut all the elements you need from Neenah Solar White paper, using the coordinating Bleat Die Set and Spellbinders Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine or Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
- Stamp the outline illustrations from Bleat Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, using the negative parts of the dies as a guide for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.
- Color the stamps with COPIC MARKERS. I used on this card:
- goats E40-E41-E42-E43
- yellow Y0000-Y13-Y15
- pink RV10-Rv11-RV13
- green YG01-YG06
- purple RV63-RV66
- brown E30-E31
- gray C00-C0-C1-C3
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper. I used Tim Holtz Maxi Guillotine Trimmer and Mini Score Board.
- Trim two others A2 size rectangles: one from Pastel Basics Paper Pad (a purple heart pattern) and the other from a vellum.
- Die cut a white window frame from the same Neenah Solar White paper for a perfect match, using Frames and Tags Die Set.
- Die cut three colorful panels from Pastel Basics Paper Pad to fit inside the white window frame from Frames and Tags Die Set.
- Die cut a small tag from a black cardstock, using again Frames and Tags Die Set.
- Carefully split apart the sentiment from Bleat Stamp Set with with the sharp small scissors.
- Heat emboss in white on the black tag the first part of the sentiment with VersaMark clear sticky ink and Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Don’t forget to prep the paper with a Powder Tool Applicator to prevent the embossing powder to stick where you don’t want it!
- Repeatedly stamp the second part of the sentiment on the green rectangle, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- Arrange and glue in place all the elements on the card front by popping some of them on a foam tape for a bit of dimension.
- Finish with a few highlights added with a white gel pen.
