Hello and welcome to Day 2 of the Newton’s Nook April release! Thanks so much for joining me today since I can’t wait to share with you all the stunning new products!
All the new April products will be available for purchase on Friday, April 22nd at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!
The second day of the April reveal has reserved us the most wonderful love themed Destination Love Stamp Set and beautiful floral Lilac Stamp Set! Please, note that as always both new stamp sets come with the coordinating Destination Love Die Set and Lilac Die Set!
Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away both new Destination Love and Lilac stamp sets to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!
On my stop of this hop you will find two quite different, but simple designs that keep the main focus on the beautiful illustrations from the new release! Besides, I finished the “Just Married” card with a hidden message inside paired with amazing floral clusters simply stamped and colored with copic markers without making any shading at all!
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Die cut from Neenah Solar White paper all the elements you need, using the coordinating Destination Love Die Set and Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
- Stamp the outline illustrations from Destination Love Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, using the negative parts of the dies as a guide for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.
- Color the stamps with COPIC MARKERS. I used on this card:
- pink RV0000-RV000-RV00-RV10-RV02-RV17
- red R000-R00-R11-R12-R14
- teal BG0000-BG000-BG01-BG05
- cool grey C00-C0-C1-C2-C3
- toner grey T0-T1-T3-T5-T7
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
- Trim a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ rectangle from Ice Blast cardstock.
- Die cut a scalloped heart in the center, using Heart Frames Die Set.
- Secure Petite Hearts Stencil with a low tack tape and spread all over Moonstone Glimmer Paste from Nuvo, helping yourself with a palette Knife. Let the embossing paste air dry.
- Meanwhile stamp the sentiment and two floral clusters inside with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and color them with copic markers.
- Arrange and glue in place all the elements on the card front by popping some on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look.
- Finish with some highlights added with a white gel pen and a generous coat of a clear glitter pen.
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Prep a piece of Strathmore Bristol paper with a Powder Tool Applicator to prevent the embossing powder to stick where you don’t want it!
- Stamp two lilacs and some butterflies from Lilac Stamp Set with VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink.
- Heat emboss the stamp lines, using a fine detail clear embossing powder.
- Die cut the illustrations, using the coordinating Lilac Die Set and Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine.
- Color the stamps with water based markers. I used KARIN BRUSHMARKER PRO set:
- lilac 4072, 197, 358
- green 253, 377
- Heat emboss in white onto black the sentiment with VersaMark Clear Embossing Ink. Don’t forget to prep the paper with a Powder Tool Applicator to prevent the embossing powder to stick where you don’t want it!
- Fussy cut the sentiment the sharp small scissors, leaving a little edge around.
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
- Trim a 5 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ rectangle from the same Neenah Solar White paper and die cut an oval frame in the center, using Oval Frames Die Set.
- Arrange and glue in place all the elements on the card front by popping some on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look.
- Finish with some highlights added with a white gel pen and a couple of matching sequins.
