Hello and welcome to the final day of the Newton’s Nook Designs June release! Thanks so much for joining me throughout this week and for all your nice and kind comments!!! I cannot express how much I appreciate all your love and support!
All the new June products will be available for purchase on Friday, June 18th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!
The last day of the summer release has reserved us two amazing BBQ Roundabout Stamp and Seashell Roundabout Stamp sets! Both new sets are another great addition to the NND “Circle Card Front” line of products and as such both coordinate perfectly with already existing Circle Frames Die and Banner Trio Die sets.
Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away both new BBQ Roundabout and Seashell Roundabout stamp sets to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!
On my stop of this hop you I’m sharing two different ways to use roundabout stamps. The first card was simply colored with copic markers and then framed inside the coordinating stitched circle die. While the second one, features the emboss resist technique. I managed to add a bunch of color by splitting the image with a matching wavy die and then inking every single element apart. As always, you can find a step by step instructions below!
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Stamp the big illustration from BBQ Roundabout Stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. If you have a stamping positioning tool, ink and impress the stamp a couple of times to achieve nice and crisp outlines.
- Die cut the stamp, using the coordinating Circle Frames Die Set. I used on this project Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine.
- Color the image with COPIC MARKERS. I used on this card:
- buns YR20-YR21-YR23-YR27
- red R20-R21-R22-R24-R27
- orange YR61-YR65-YR68
- yellow Y00-Y11-Y13-Y15-Y17-Y18
- green YG00-YG01-YG05-YG09
- grey C00-C1-C3-C6-C7
- teal BG000-BG10-BG11-BG15-BG23
- brown E30-E31-E33
- black 100
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Desert Storm paper.
- Flick some tiny droplets of a white gouache.
- Trim a red rectangle 5 1/2″ wide and ink it through Gingham Stencil with a white pigment ink. I used Simon Says Stamp Lipstick Red cardstock.
- Die cut from Neenah Solar White paper the letters “BBQ” three times, using Essential Alphabet Die Set. Stack all three layers together with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
- Arrange all the elements on the card front and glue them in place by popping some on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look.
- Finish with a coat of Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.
Key Ingredients:
- Seashell Roundabout Stamp
- Circle Frames Die Set
- Banner Trio Die Set
- Land Borders Die Set
- Frames Squared Die Set
Step By Step Instructions:
- Put a generous coat of an antistatic powder on a piece of Neenah Solar White paper, ink the big illustration from Seashell Roundabout Stamp with VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink and stamp the image. If you use a stamping positioning tool, impress the image a couple of times to achieve solid outlines.
- Sprinkle a white fine detail embossing powder all across the stamped seashells, heat set the powder with a heat gun.
- Frame the heat embossed illustration with a scalloped circle from Circle Frames Die Set. I used on this project Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine.
- Split the circle with a wavy die from Land Borders Die Set.
- Ink every single piece with (starting from top):
- Simon Says Stamp Mint dye ink
- Simon Says Stamp Hugh Dive dye ink
- Simon Says Stamp Island Blue dye ink
- Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea dye ink
- Simon Says Stamp Hot Mama dye ink
- Simon Says Stamp Doll Pink dye ink
- Die cut another scalloped circle from Circle Frames Die Set and assemble all the inked pieces together with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
- Trim and score a square 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ card base from Neenah Solar White paper.
- Die cut a stitched square from a light grey cardstock, using Frames Squared Die Set.
- Trim a slightly smaller square from Neenah Solar White paper and round the conners with Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper Tool.
- Die cut a banner from a black cardstock, using Banner Trio Die Set.
- Heat emboss in white the sentiment in the center of the banner.
- Arrange all the elements on the card front and glue them in place by popping some on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look.
- Finish with some crystal sparkling sequins.
