On my stop of this hop you’ll find two bright and colorful although a bit different projects! The cute kitties were created with water techniques and water based media just to match the rainy theme. White the amazing flowers were colored with alcohol based markers and arranged on a similar background embellished with a basketweave pattern and a crackle texture.
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Die cut from Strathmore Bristol paper the trio of kitties using the coordinating Newton’s Rainy Day Trio Die Set. I used on this project Sizzix Big Short Die Cutting machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
- Stamp the outline illustration from Newton’s Rainy Day Trio Stamp Set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, using the negative parts of the dies for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.

- N75, N79, 025, 055, 528, 535, 636, 665, 703, 925, 933, 946, 969, 977, 992
- plus Zig Clean Colour Real Brush marker n.61
- Heat emboss in white onto black the sentiment from Newton’s Rainy Day Trio Stamp Set and shape it into a fish-tail banner.
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
- Create a watercolor background using regular watercolors and a piece of cold pressed watercolor paper slightly smaller than the card base.
- Apply Raindrops through the stencil with a plain white embossing paste.
- Assemble all the elements together using a foam tape for a fun dimensional look.
- Finish with a couple of clear sparkling sequins adheres with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
