Newton’s Nook Designs March Release and Giveaway – Day 2 – Welcome New Cat & Welcome New Dog

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of the Newton’s Nook March release! Thanks so much for joining me today!  I can’t wait to share with you all the stunning new products!

All the new March products will be available for purchase on Thursday, March 17th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!

Well today I’m so excited to introduce you two absolutely adorable Welcome New Cat Stamp and Welcome New Dog Stamp sets, both filled with fantastic cat and dog related accessories! In my opinion these new sets are a great addition to every other cat and dog sets that you already have in your stash and can be easily mixed and matched with your favorite pet illustrations! Please, note that, as usual, there’re the coordinating Welcome New Cat Die and Welcome New Dog Die sets among the other products released this week! There would be no perfect new collection without a new stencil! Right?! So Petite Paw Prints Stencil purr-fectly complete today’s reveals!

On my stop of this hop you will find two cute cards: both with a simple copic coloring, but completely different backgrounds. The cute kitty was arranged on an inked background embellished with a lovely paw print pattern from new Petite Paw Prints Stencil, while the funny puppy card was completed with a pattern paper from other new just released yesterday Springtime Paper Pad.

Key Ingredients:

• Welcome New Cat Stamp Set
• Welcome New Cat Die Set
• Petite Paw Prints Stencil
• A7 Frames & Banners Die Set

Step By Step Instructions:

• Die cut from Neenah Solar White paper all the elements you need, using the coordinating Welcome New Cat Die Set and Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
• Stamp the outline illustration from Welcome New Cat Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Use the negative parts of the dies as a guide for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.
• Color the stamps with COPIC MARKERS. I used on this card:
  • cat Y32-YR21-YR24-YR27 & R000-R12
  • brown E40-E41-E42-E43-E44
  • grey W00-W1-W3
  • red R000-R30-R32-R35
  • teal BG10-BG11-BG15-BG57
• Trim and score a slightly larger than A2 size card base that measures 6 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ from Neenah Solar White paper.
• Trim another 6 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ rectangle from a Bristol paper since it’s a bit smoother than  Neenah Solar White.
• Ink it with Tattered Rose Distress, Dried Marigold Distress and Abandoned Coral Distress inks, using the blending brushes.
• Tape well Petite Paw Prints Stencil with a low tack tape to the inked background and add the pattern, using the same colors of distress inks and the blending brushes.
• Splatter the inked background with some tiny droplets of a clear shimmer spray diluted with a small amount of water.
• Die cut from Neenah Solar White a rectangle stitched window frame, using A7 Frames & Banners Die Set.
• Apply the die cut frame on the inked background and mark the spot for the sentiment.
• Stamp the sentiment from Welcome New Cat Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. 
• Arrange all the elements on the card front and glue in place by popping some on a foam tape to add a bit of dimension.
• Finish with a generous coat of a clear glitter pen and a couple of highlights added with a white gel pen.

• Welcome New Dog Die Set
• Springtime Paper Pad
• Land Borders Die Set

Step By Step Instructions:

• Die cut from Neenah Solar White paper all the elements you need, using the coordinating Welcome New Dog Die Set and Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
• Stamp the outline illustration from Welcome New Dog Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Use the negative parts of the dies as a guide for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.
• Color the stamps with COPIC MARKERS. I used on this card:
  • dog E0000-E30-E31-E33-E35
  • dog house E40-E41-E42-E43-E44
  • red R30-R32-R35-R37
  • blue B0000-B32-B34-B37-B39
  • yellow Y0000-Y11-Y35
• Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
• Trim a piece of cloudy patterned paper for the sky portion from Springtime Paper Pad.
• Die cut the grass portion from the same Springtime Paper Pad, using Land Borders Die Set.
• Trim a white piece of cardstock for the bottom portion of the card front and stamp the sentiment on it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
• Arrange all the elements on the card front and glue in place by popping some on a foam tape to add a bit of dimension.
• Finish with a generous coat of a clear glitter pen and a couple of highlights added with a white gel pen.
